Blufish Vernon Hills opened in December 2015.
Locals have lovingly welcomed our restaurant to the Lake County sushi scene, and the Vernon Hills location has quickly earned a loyal following. The menu at Vernon Hills has expanded and evolved on Blufish's signature dishes. Many of the new appetizers feature sushi connoisseurs' favorite cuts of fish--o-toro, madai, and zuke sake to name a few. Blufish Vernon Hills also offers an omakase, a chef's tasting course, with an optional sake or wine pairing.
Perhaps the greatest renovation to the Blufish experience is at the bar at Vernon Hills. The white quartz-top bar is lit from within and the new signature cocktail list consists of many different styles of spirits. The James Dean, cocoa-infused bourbon old fashioned is a must-try, as is the Bermuda Triangle, a spicy organic mango jalapeño margarita.

Executive Chef, Blufish Vernon Hills
At a young age, Chef Min discovered his passion and love for food. He came to the states in 1991 and attended school. In 2001, Chef Min started working for his father's Japanese restaurant in Wheaton and quickly accustomed to the industry. His father trained him as a chef in the kitchen as well as running the front of house.
Throughout his professional career as a chef specializing in Japanese cuisine, Chef Min has trained vigorously and rose through the ranks gaining an elaborately wide spectrum of culinary experience.
In 2011, Chef Min joined the Blufish family. Currently, he holds the executive chef position for the Vernon Hills location. He continues to inspire and delight his guests with his modernistic approach to traditional and authentic Japanese dishes. He has quickly earned a loyal following through his omakase chef's tasting menu.
